We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll processing for our behavioral healthcare organization. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting staff with payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate has experience in payroll administration, a strong understanding of labor laws, and proficiency in payroll software.

- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Manage employee payroll changes, such as new hires, terminations, and wage adjustments.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including payroll tax filings.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, errors, and employee inquiries.
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams to maintain accurate employee records.
- Process wage garnishments, benefit deductions, and retirement contributions.
- Assist in audits and reporting related to payroll.
- Stay updated on payroll laws and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paychex, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support employees and collaborate with teams.
