High School Math and Physics Tutor – Nashville, TNLocation: Nashville, TN
Thrive Tutoring is seeking highly skilled High School Math and Physics Tutors to work one-on-one with students in their homes across the Nashville area. We are looking for exceptional educators who can effectively teach a variety of high school content areas, with a focus on Math and Physics. If you have a deep understanding of these subjects and a passion for helping students grow, we would love to have you join our team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare high-impact lessons in advance of each tutoring session. This includes gathering materials, preparing the lesson plan, and monitoring student progress.
- Lead engaging, personalized one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to the needs and goals of each student.
- Travel to students' homes or designated tutoring locations across the Nashville area, conducting sessions during after-school, evening, and weekend hours.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with the Thrive team, students, and families.
- Collaborate with families and Thrive team members to schedule tutoring sessions that best meet the students' needs.
- Maintain open communication with students' families/teachers to gain insights into class objectives, lesson plans, and student progress.
- Review and analyze student performance/assessment results (if applicable) to adjust instructional approaches.
- Develop detailed, personalized learning plans in alignment with each student's academic goals.
- Provide feedback to parents after each tutoring session, including a post-session checklist of action items and reminders for the student.
- Follow through on all commitments and action items outlined during tutoring sessions.
Qualifications:
- Highly dependable with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to build rapport with students and parents.
- Deep content knowledge in high school math and physics.
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, or coaching high school students, with the ability to provide meaningful feedback to students and their families.
- Impressive academic credentials that reflect a love for learning and a passion for educating others.
- Strong commitment to customer service, including punctuality and responsiveness to emails, texts, etc.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A self-starter, resourceful, and motivated to work in a start-up environment.
- Proven track record of helping students achieve measurable growth.
- Experience in creating impactful lesson plans that are aligned with student needs and learning goals.
