Private Family Hiring an Early Elementary Homeschool Teacher
Location: College Grove, TN
Schedule: 3-4 days per week, ~20 instructional hours per week
Start Date: August 2025
Commitment: 1-2 years
Thrive Tutoring is seeking a warm, experienced, and engaging elementary educator to provide homeschool instruction for a preschooler and kindergartener in a private family setting. This family values a well-rounded, hands-on, and structured approach to early education while weaving in Christian education and Biblical lessons.
The ideal candidate is someone who can foster a love of learning while incorporating faith-based teaching, creativity, and structure into their homeschool program. The family is seeking a teacher who can travel with them for trips abroad and across the U.S. (approximately 3-4 weeks at a time). Total travel would be about 2 months cumulative across the entire school year.
Position Details:
- Instruction: 4 days per week, ~20 total instructional hours
- Location: At the family’s home in College Grove, TN
- Curriculum & Methods: A structured yet creative approach to early literacy, math, science, and social studies with Christian education and Bible lessons woven in
- Commitment: 1-2 school years
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to each child’s needs and interests
- Incorporate faith-based education and Bible lessons into the curriculum in a natural and engaging way
- Utilize multi-sensory, play-based, and hands-on learning strategies to support early literacy and numeracy
- Foster a nurturing, structured, and creative learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking
- Provide social-emotional learning and character development through Christian values and moral teachings
- Prepare materials, track progress, and provide regular updates to parents
- Travel with the family as needed and provide structured learning during trips
Qualifications:
- Experienced educator with a background in early childhood/elementary education
- 3 years of teaching experience with early elementary students
- Familiarity with developmentally appropriate learning methods, including phonics-based reading instruction and hands-on math strategies
- Ability to integrate Christian education and Bible lessons into daily instruction
- Comfortable with travel and providing structured learning experiences in new environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with parents
