We fully embrace what makes each student unique, and we tailor every aspect of our lesson planning and delivery to the needs of each student.
Thrive Tutoring is seeking experienced SAT prep tutors for students in the Raleigh area. Thrive is seeking tutors with at least two years of experience *successfully* prepping students for the SAT.
Job Responsibilities
- Communicate promptly and professionally with Thrive team, students, and families
- Work with families to schedule tutoring sessions
- Travel to meet students in their home or at a local library/coffee shop in the greater Raleigh area
- Assess the baseline academic levels for students in order to create a tailored learning plan with goals, objectives, and metrics of success
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of the student
- Communicate with teachers regularly
- Incorporate opportunities to build life skills within tutoring lessons (e.g., organizational tips, note-taking strategies, study skills, etc.)
- Provide parents with feedback and next steps after each tutoring sessions
- Develop and continuously update a student learning plan that outlines the student's big learning goals and objectives
Skills & Experience:
- At least two years of tutoring/teaching experience with demonstrated ability to drive student growth
- Highly dependable and responsible
- Self-starter, resourceful, and eager to work in a start-up environment
- Track record of leading others to results
- Exceptional academic background
- Able to demonstrate content knowledge
- Passion for and experience in working with students, particularly students with learning differences
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Natural ability to build rapport and develop relationships
- Empathetic and in tune with the needs of others
