Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, on call rotation
SUMMARY
Responsible for program maintenance, growth, and overall operation of the Community Residence on a day-to-day basis. Supervises and guides community residence staff in the effective delivery of services to program participants in a healthy, safe, and therapeutic environment. Ensures that all staff are implementing agency, state, and other regulatory body requirements. Must support a Person-Centered approach to client care.
Shifts could include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as specified and requires participation in being on-call on a rotating basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for oversight of self and all program staff regarding compliance with the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs Code of Conduct.
- Oversee the maintenance of the community residence and its conformity to health and safety requirements.
- Manage crisis situations and support staff in providing wrap around care for residents
- Provide for the physical needs of each resident through the provision of adequate food, shelter, and clothing as well as assisting with medication management/training and the adherence to physician’s instructions.
- Properly safeguard residents’ medications and valuables.
- Oversee inventory and purchasing of food and other household supplies.
- Encourage residents to complete daily living skills and maintaining adherence to all appointments.
- Delegate shared responsibilities for housekeeping tasks and food preparation to all residents.
- Assist in the delivery of restorative services as designated on the service plan and ensure all services are provided as outlined on the Service Plan by other program staff.
- Oversee transportation for residents and provide transportation to appointments as needed.
- Ensure resident records are maintained in a manner compliant with federal, state, local, and agency policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in regular on-call schedule as required by the agency.
- Provide oversight of referrals, admissions, discharges, and overall client care.
- Complete monthly billing and maintain compliance related to billing requirements.
- Schedule and facilitate routine staff meetings and maintain meeting minutes, to include treatment team meetings.
- Participate in agency committee meetings as assigned.
- Responsible for ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed and support shift coverage as needed.
- Develop and post staff schedules, process time sheets, and time requests.
- Manage petty cash.
- Update policy and procedure manual as needed.
- Conduct monthly unannounced visits to the program.
- Ensure all incidents are reported according to agency expectations and standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise all program staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required: Master’s degree in Mental Health or Human Services field; and one (1) to two (2) years of related experience and/or training OR a Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health or Human Services field; and three (3) to four (4) years of related experience and/or training with developmentally delayed, geriatric, and co-occurring disorder clients.
Preferred: Prior supervisor experience.
Other Job Requirements: Must maintain a valid Drivers License, as specified in the personnel policies. Must maintain all laws and policies concerning confidentiality, security, and client rights as specified in the employee handbook, 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA. Must maintain current certification and/or training in CPR and First Aid, and any other areas specified by state law and agency regulation.
