Software Architect


The Software Architect is a key leader across development, architecture, data, and business functions. This role works closely with their team as a servant leader, coordinating multiple initiatives to ensure alignment and clear communication. They collaborate with business owners and leaders, constantly validating that the delivered solutions meet business needs. The Solution Architect partners with other architects, senior leaders, and product teams to develop scalable, flexible, and resilient architectures that address business problems. This is a self-directed role requiring no supervision, with strong time management, project management, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will take on leadership in group-based special interest initiatives.


What You Will Do:

  • Lead team members in solution design and task breakdown.
  • Participate in all phases of solution delivery.
  • Define the vision and roadmap for technology-based solutions within the development team.
  • Design new software and solutions, or extensively revise existing software.
  • Serve as a top-level technical expert, creating high-level architectural specifications and addressing systems integration issues.
  • Collaborate with management to research the technical feasibility of business requirements.
  • Mentor developers on architectural principles, solution design, and best practices, ensuring alignment with the overall technical vision.
  • Evangelize and refine development and design standards across the organization.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members to support their day-to-day tasks.
  • Work with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical outputs.
  • Perform peer reviews and provide sign-off on team members' work to ensure adherence to architectural standards.
  • Integrate business processes by actively engaging with business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and organizational objectives.
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical issues within the team.
  • Lead internal training opportunities within the development team.
  • Perform knowledge transfer of both business and technical concepts to peers.
  • Pursue continuous education to stay current with new technologies, agile processes, programming languages, industry best practices, and tools relevant to the role.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in technology, with a focus on software development.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis and systems design.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role (principal engineer, tech lead, team lead, architect, etc.).


Certifications

  • Azure or AWS Solution Architect preferred, or to be acquired within the first 12 months of the role.
  • SAFe Architect preferred, or to be acquired within the first 12 months of the role.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Cloud Technologies: Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of architectural frameworks, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Software Development: Strong background in software development, with experience in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic thinking abilities.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams or enable other leaders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Salary : $135,000 - $155,000
