As a Direct Support Professional for Thriving With Assistance (TWA), you will Assist in the development of the program, implementation of individual program goals, plan and implement community and home-based activities focusing on participant’s choices, assist with personal care as needed and assigned; assist and/or substitute for fellow DSP as needed. The Direct Support Professional will report to the COO of TWA.
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Reliable transportation
Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the characteristics and concepts of developmental disabilities and related conditions; Knowledge of HCBS settings
- Ability to implement and follow the policies and procedures of the position
- Ability to engage in the care and assist others
- Ability to provide basic nursing care, personal care, and hygiene as needed
- Ability to participate with professional staff in the design and implementation of training and programmatic activities.
- Ability to observe the rights and personal dignity of others.
- Ability to observe, record and report individuals’ behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
- Ability to perform simple math and communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals and other employees.
Experience:
Experience in the care, training, rehabilitation and of individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities preferred
License: Driver's license (Required)
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and registry search, Must obtain and maintain certification in behavior management, first aid and CPR
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
