Thump Baker

Thump Coffee in Bend, OR is looking to hire one part-time baker for our team. This position is a mix of working early morning bake off shifts and assisting with day time prep. This position is for 2-4 days per week. We are located on 549 NW York Drive Suite 200.

Position Summary

When you bake for Thump Coffee, you spend your shifts at our York location and get to use state-of-the-art equipment. Your team is disciplined and fun, and rallies behind daily goals with a sense of purpose. At the end of your shift, you can leave work - probably dusted in flour - knowing you helped transform the lives of all who walk through Thump’s doors.

Our Thump Bakers are committed to the following job functions:

• Mix, shape, proof, and bake a variety of baked goods
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the baking area, including dishwashing and mopping the floor
• Contribute to ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the quantity and quality of baked goods

Our dream Thump Baker has the following knowledge and qualifications:

• 1 year of baking experience or the ability and passion to learn how to bake

Position pay, schedule, and requirements:

• The starting pay for bakers at Thump is $20 per hour.
• Bakery Bake Off Shift are scheduled from 1am-9am.
• Bakery Prep Shift are scheduled from 8am-4pm. Shifts may be shorter

Bakers at Thump must be comfortable lifting large mixing bowls and dishes, working with large ovens and mixers, delivering orders, and comfortable and able to focus in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

• Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time 
• Lifting and carrying baking trays, large heavy mixing bowls, and ingredients
• Pushing and pulling baking racks and carts
• Reaching, bending properly, and stooping to collect heavy ingredients from a variety of areas
• Gross and fine manipulation for rolling, stirring, folding, and shaping products
• Doing large loads of dishes daily

Medical insurance is offered for team members who meet a set amount of hours per pay period.
