PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for directing the safe work practices of the Plant Technicians and maintaining the plant equipment to achieve budgeted production requirements in accordance with all state, federal, and company regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Ensure coal processing and shipping compliance with customer contracts.
- Plan maintenance work and reviewing work orders for jobs in idled areas.
- Ensure accurate completion of all required reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain a professional and courteous interaction with customers and railroads.
- Entertain and tour customers, railroad personnel and visitors as requested.
- Communicate effectively with other supervisors on all items of importance.
- Prepare and deliver effective safety meetings.
- Communicate, train, evaluate, and clearly define technician job expectations and performance.
- Maintain updated and current regulatory training for themselves and their technicians.
- Support and enforce Company policies and procedures.
- Facilitate and support SABERS.
- Carry out risk assessments.
- Conduct or ensure on-shift examinations of active work areas are completed.
- Participate in WRAC assessments.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of coal preparation, supervision or other relevant experience.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple people, tasks and projects.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and e-mail software applications.
Salary : $94,000 - $120,000
