Position Summary
The Maintenance staff is responsible for assisting with facility repairs, will maintain and replace machinery and mechanical equipment; performs general maintenance repair and fabrication projects and responds to work orders as directed. Must be able to troubleshoot and utilize advanced skills in providing all general maintenance to Thunderbird Entertainment Center properties. The Maintenance staff will work hours appropriate to meet the needs of the business, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Ensures Thunderbird quality guest experience and cheerful atmosphere is maintained
- Maintain a pleasant and professional attitude to internal and external customers
- Operate in accordance with existing policies/procedures
- Remain current on all training required within the department and the casino
- Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting procedures
- Working knowledge of electrical and/or HVAC codes. Cooling units on freezers
- Perform all forms of construction from framing to millwork
- Maintenance on casino
- Puts dance floor and stage together and dismantle for events
- All door maintenance except AMAG locks
- General repairs of carpentry related items including but not limited to all furniture and all types of millwork
- Maintain a current MSDS book
- Repainting of curbs, traffic stripes and directional signs throughout the property
- Maintain all finishes, including fences, light standards and canopies over casino entrances
- Repair and repaint exterior structures and doors
- Hang drywall, paint and install wall coverings for special projects
- Handle remodeling and preventative maintenance programs property-wide
- Handle and dispose of all hazardous waste associated with the shop
- Adheres to and complies with both departmental and overall property policies and procedures
- Must handle work orders in a timely manner
- Demo and installation of a/c units, ice machines, electrical power for machines
- Assists with the disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
- Must comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA
- Consistently monitor and push in chairs throughout the casino
- Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor or Facility Manger (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, etc.)
- Maintains high levels of confidentiality at all time to protect employees and the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management
Qualifications
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledgeable of Federal/state/Tribal Employment laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including MS Outlook and internet.
- Knowledge of various mechanized equipment, radio and phone systems and various chemicals and materials.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize.
- Ability to function in a professional manner during high stress/volume situations.
- Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities, but will work in areas throughout the casino.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions.
- Exposure to smoking and secondhand smoke, indoor and outdoor exposure.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience combined).
- Two (2) years maintenance experience preferred.
- Must be able to use equipment, such as: tools, forklift, other power lifts and lawn equipment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a key gaming license.
