Position Summary
The Vault Teller is responsible for distributing, verifying, counting and balancing all money coming in and out of the Vault. The Vault Teller will ensure the kiosk and ATMS are in working order and report any and all issues to the Vault Manager. The Teller will maintain high levels of customer service while issuing money and assisting guests or employees with issues. The Vault Teller will work hours appropriate to meet the needs of the business, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Ensures Thunderbird quality guest service and cheerful atmosphere maintained in your department.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of department at all times
- Make good and proper decisions that reflect positively on you and the Casino
- Responsible for the compilation of all necessary information and preparation of reports needed to comply with Tribal, Federal, and State regulations
- Maintain proper compliance at all times
- Count monies in a timely manner
- Work in close quarters
- Distribute, verify count and balance all monies in the Vault
- Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and general public
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge and experience with modern office equipment and its usage.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize responsibilities when necessary; effective time-management skills.
- Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including word processing and 10 key and proficient typing.
- Knowledge of Tribal/State/Federal laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, Board members, and the public, both in person and through phone, e-mail and written correspondence.
- Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability and accuracy to handle large sums of money.
- Skill in communication employees in any situation.
- Good math skills and ability to use those skills quickly.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities, but will handle duties as assigned in the Vault.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.
- Ability to push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and move intermittently throughout the day.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Exposure to smoke and second hand smoke.
- Noise level can be minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience combined).
- One (1) year casino experience preferred.
- One (1) year previous cash handling position preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a key gaming license.
