Material Handler Essential Functions
- Reads production schedule and determines material requirements for production.
- Moves materials and containers from storage or work sites to designated areas to meet requirements of production schedule.
- Identifies materials and containers with suitable tags or labels.
- Cleans work areas, machines, and equipment to assist operators.
- Loads loose materials into hoppers and containers.
- Mix materials according to product requirements.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Frequently required walking and reaching with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Able to operate forklift.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, talk, and hear.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to read applicable instructions.
