Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician – West Warwick
General Responsibilities:
Provide trauma informed, culturally responsive, behavioral health services to child and adolescent patients in a patient centered medical home. Provide behavioral health services to adults as needed. As a member of an integrated care team, be available for warm hand offs from medical providers, work in conjunction with psychiatric prescribers, and conduct brief screening to evaluate the needs of children and families for behavioral health services.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree and licensed as one of the following: LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT. (Comparable licenses from other states with ability to obtain appropriate licensure from RI will be considered.)
Two years clinical experience.
Experience with diverse populations. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish and English strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
Physical Effort/Environment:
Moderate physical activity is required: sitting, standing, walking, and lifting. Travel to off-site meetings and other program sites as needed is required.
Work Schedule Demands:
The work schedule is 40 hours per week, mornings, afternoons, and evenings as required.
Due to the needs of the population being served this role may require a larger distribution of hours in the afternoon and evening, but will offer some flexibility.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, required.
The Ability to effectively work and communicate with a multi-disciplinary team, other services providers, and patients is critical to the success of this position.
Confidentiality of Information:
The incumbent has access to client’s medical records, financial information, and documentation regarding prior services from outside agencies. The maintenance of client information confidentially is required.
Significant Job Functions:
Clinical & Direct Service Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of Psychiatric Diagnosis (DSM-5-TR & ICD-10) in order to perform and record mental status examination findings and multi-axial diagnostic formulation with assigned patient caseload.
Apply knowledge of methodologies of psychotherapy to provide individual, group, and/or family behavioral health counseling.
Provide referrals for more intensive services where appropriate
Provide consultation and assistance to medical providers on the management of behavioral health concerns in primary care and help implement team determined integrated treatment plan.
Assess clinical emergencies, including risk of suicide and danger to others
Collaborate with other providers, agencies, and individuals in the patients’ network of care.
Communicate with various local agencies and individuals, as well as with Health Center staff.
Participate in BH On-Call schedule.
Documentation & General Administrative Duties:
Perform timely and accurate record keeping in accordance with all Health Center requirements.
Complete behavioral health screenings & progress notes, evaluations, and insurance documentation as required by pay sources.
Complete clear, specific, and behaviorally measurable treatment plans with assigned patients.
Maintain cooperative relationships with Health Center employees, patients, community agencies and the public.
Work in cooperation with co-workers and supervisory staff.
Address conflict in a constructive manner.
Maintain a willingness to listen to and respond to constructive feedback from supervisory personnel.
Serve on Health Center committees and workgroups as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned for which you are qualified.
