General Responsibilities:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner fellow is responsible for providing psychiatric care, within the limits of the training of a psychiatric nurse practitioner, to assigned patients while under clinically precepted supervision. The directed course for the first program year includes the fellow incrementally developing and maintaining psychiatric patient panel with the goal of independently managing this panel by the conclusion of the first Fellowship year. The psychiatric nurse practitioner fellow is a fully licensed, autonomous provider executing professional clinical judgment in the care of Thundermist patients, according to the guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by Thundermist Health Center and the Fellowship Program.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of MS, MSN, or DNP program
RI RN, APRN and CSR Licensure
ANCC or AANP Board Certification in the specialty of practice PRIOR TO AUGUST of the cohort year (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)
Current and Active DEA
Current and Active BLS
Ongoing CEU to update skills/therapies & meet licensure requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual capacity in a second language.

Significant Job Functions:
Clinical
Patient care – history, anticipatory education/guidance in behavioral health, management of acute and chronic illness
Maintenance of complete/accurate patient records
Accountable for patient care provided
Suboxone Waiver Training, Certification, and Practice
Administrative
Participation in initial 4–6 weeks of orientation
Participation in weekly fellowship debriefs
Participation in weekly Didactic sessions
Participation in intermittent departmental and team meetings
Completion of weekly Reflective Journal
Duties specific to each Fellowship year
Physical Effort/ Environment:
The duties of this position are performed onsite at a Thundermist location.
Moderate physical activity: walking, standing, and stooping.
Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, respiratory disease, and other infectious diseases, and other biohazards material requiring universal standard precautions for medical practitioners.
Manual dexterity needed for certain medical procedures.
Clinical environment in ambulatory-based settings and home-based care.
