Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on both residential and commercial spaces.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Buff and polish floors to maintain their appearance and longevity.
- Conduct custodial duties such as dusting, window washing, and restroom sanitation.
- Assist with residential painting as needed to enhance facility aesthetics.
- Carry out floor care activities, including stripping, waxing, and sealing surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, ensuring they are tidy and presentable at all times.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or issues that require attention.
- Execute industrial cleaning tasks in compliance with safety standards.
- Act as a porter when necessary, assisting with the movement of supplies or equipment within the facility.
Experience
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is advantageous.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- A proactive attitude towards maintaining a clean and safe environment for all staff and visitors.
