What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quantitative Developer, ML-Driven Systematic Futures position at Thurn Partners?

One of the most revered systematic Futures traders of all time, who spent more than a decade at a legendary quantitative trading business, is building a new pod elsewhere. He left his previous firm when he felt certain aspects of the platform had become antiquated, and no longer presented the best environment for him to scale his strategy.
He joined one of the most ambitious and truly quantitative systematic firms in the space, to build out their mid-high frequency Futures effort.
He is looking to hire a Quant Research Engineer who is extremely computationally capable and has solid CS fundamentals, but who is also mathematically aware and literate. They will be embedded in his tight nit team, and implement research logic into production, while also building sophisticated ML Infra that facilitate research. In some cases, they may even contribute to alpha.
He could hire from industry, or tech. The requisites of the individual are:
- Expertise in Python and/or C . The technical bar at this firm is high, and this individual's coding ability will be vetted.
- At least a Bachelors in Computer Science, Masters and PhDs are desirable. A minor in Math or similar would also really help. These need to be from a top institution, with a strong GPA.
- 2 years experience. He is seeking a doer - someone likely in the 2-7 year experience bracket. Of course, if someone has more experience but is still fully in the detail, that is fine.
