The fund is looking for an experienced Discretionary Trader with a strong understanding of the North American Energy markets (Oil, Gas and/or Power), and a proven track-record of excellent return on capital for a number of years. The fund's commodities business has established itself as one of the dominant performers over the past 24 months, and is therefore looking to expand this high-performing team.
Your role:
- Design and implement fundamental and quantitative models to identify market opportunities and execute trades efficiently.
- Test strategies using historical data to evaluate their performance and robustness.
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, generate signals, and understand market dynamics.
- Coordinate with researchers and analysts to apply new insights and improve trading strategies.
- Stay up to date on Energy market trends and adjust strategies based on real-time conditions.
Experience/skills required:
- Energy trading experience.
- Experience at a Proprietary trading firm or Hedge Fund.
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field from a top college or university.
- Well-documented knowledge of Python.
- Proven track record of meeting challenging objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills are required.
