What are the responsibilities and job description for the AS400 System Operator position at Thurston Foods?
As an AS400 operator, your job duties are to configure the AS400 computer and server systems, plan and implement programs, work with vendors and third party programmers, conduct testing of applications running on the AS400 systems, perform troubleshooting, identify bugs, and deploy solutions. Additional responsibilities include operating and monitoring AS400 computer systems, performing and managing backups, applying PTFs, perform IPLs, maintaining system security, and informing your supervisor when problems arise.
Role and Responsibilities:
The IBM I System Operator will be responsible for:
· Running standard jobs.
· Maintain system and device health for high volume printers, tape drives.
· Perform and manage backups.
· Operate system side software.
· Respond to error messages and resolve underlying issues.
· Apply PTFs, perform IPLs, contact vendors for maintenance.
· Other duties as required.

Required Skills:
· 3 years IBM I, iSeries or AS400 operator experience.
· Troubleshooting and technical experience related to IBM i.
· IBM I Command set (Control Language Programming (CLP))
Education/Certification Requirements:
A college degree or equivalent work experience

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
