What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Thurston Woods Village?
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- To assist the Director of Maintenance in providing the residents of TWV with well maintained buildings, equipment and grounds that will assure their comfort and satisfaction.
- To assist other departments in serving the residents by maintaining their areas and equipment.
- To support the achievement of the Department's mission by the efficient/ effective use of resources in meeting job responsibilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Preventative maintenance.
2. Work orders.
3. Repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems.
4. Lawn care and snow removal.
5. Replace light bulbs and filters.
6. Painting, drywall and wallpaper repair.
7. Maintenance of wheelchairs, all types of carts on wheels, beds.
8. Receive and stock deliveries.
9. Assist residents during move in, move out.
10. Suggest/report equipment and supply needs to Director of Maintenance.
11. Maintain records and record work done.
12. Available for off duty and weekend call.
13. Note: The above list is representative, but not inclusive.
- It is part of my job duties to ensure resident safety.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

3. Deal tactfully with residents, visitors and fellow employees.
4. Adhere to residents’ rights according to State and Federal guidelines.

6. Complete work/assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
7. Be self-motivated/working with minimum supervision, using good judgment/reasoning.
8. Be accepting of supervision/constructive criticism.
9. Maintain uniform/clothing in compliance with guidelines.
10. Use supplies and financial resources appropriately.
11. Other duties, projects and activities as may become necessary or as directed by the supervisor.
