What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Receptionist position at Thyroid Clinic Utah?
**Needed every Tuesday and Thursday from 8am - 4pm
As a Medical Assistant/ Receptionist you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vital signs.
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records.
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Create orders for lab work and imaging studies
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Answering phone lines and handling the caller’s needs, or either directing the caller to the appropriate party or taking detailed messages
- Greeting patients upon arrival, and obtaining insurance information and any other necessary data
- Providing patients with new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
- Processing payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits
- Scheduling appointments for new and returning patients.
- Maintaining files (both hard copy, and those stored in our EHR)
- Providing patients with support and guidance as needed

Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
