What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician position at TI Fluid Systems?
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the completion of work orders and planned downtime repairs such as; Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) with other Maintenance Team Members. The repairs will involve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills. Maintenance Technicians will participate in continuous improvement tasks and activities, or other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Respond to production D/T calls immediately and counter measure effectively.
- Monitor lines to identify items that may cause downtime.
- Work with Quality and Operations to determine root cause.
- Ensure any parts used for repair are properly checked out and notify tool crib attendant if there are any discrepancies above or below min-max quantities.
- Responsible for work orders, planned downtime repairs (PM’s).
- Communicate existing equipment failures with Technology Manager and Plant Manager.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to change shifts as needed.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
- Strong mechanical and electrical experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Efficiently troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems using schematics or tooling prints.
- Troubleshoot using PLC or hardwired machine control circuits.
- Troubleshoot Robotics (ABB).
- Troubleshoot Vision Systems (Keyence and Cognex).
- Ability to do steel fabrication.
- Individual must be highly motivated.
- Work in a team environment and communicate effectively in fast-pace automotive environment, while maintaining a positive attitude.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 2 years of previous maintenance experience preferred, however will train right candidate.
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering fields preferred.
- Must be willing to continue training/education deemed necessary by the Company.
Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
- Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
- Most of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
Working Conditions:
- Works within an automotive component manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
- May be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
- Hearing protection required.
- Eye protection required.
- Steel-Toe shoes required.
