What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Technology Engineering Director position at TI Fluid Systems?
Position Summary:
Directs Engineering Manager and team in the performance of their daily duties including providing the technical direction and project focus necessary to meet requirements and goals on time, spec and budget. Sets and maintains objectives for the department consistent with the CTO organization goals.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Establish and execute Engineering objectives which contribute to the achievement of the Company’s goals.
- Represent TI Engineering in manager-level and higher customer and supplier meetings as needed, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
- Maintain and foster strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Establish and lead global collaboration with engineering teams and directors from other regions, establishing initiatives for improvement, and ensuring all initiatives are adequately supported and prioritized.
- Re-allocate resources as required to optimize the output of the department.
- Serve as mentor to the team, ensuring professional conduct and the proper application of engineering standards and thoroughness.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 26262 (functional safety), and environmental regulations.
- Identify emerging trends in technology and innovations relevant to the scope of responsibility.
- Clear, timely and accurate communication with employees and management.
- Drive relations with divisional manufacturing directors to ensure effective knowledge transfer from advanced technology to application engineering teams.
- Establish employee goals and objectives, review progress regularly, with formal reporting annually.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in advanced / product engineering or R&D, preferably with a focus on energy storage systems, thermal management or high-voltage components.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage technical teams in a dynamic, innovative environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO 26262.Familiarity with energy storage technologies, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:
- Valid drivers’ license.

Working Conditions:
- Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 pounds.

- Works within an automotive components manufacturing office setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally, sometimes with less than 24 hours notice.
