What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Tech (2nd Shift & 3rd Shift) Shift Premiums position at TI Fluid Systems?
Duties and Requirements of the Job:
- Operate standard equipment in test and process environments.
- Follows prescribed work methods in accomplishment of assignments including items such as PPAP systems, GR&R methodology/interpretation. Maintains proper laboratory and test records and files.
- Gathers, correlates and applies technical information and data to increase production and quality of company products.
- Perform functional and material testing (filled tank drops, bursts, fill studies)
- Random dock audits & inspections
- Wall dimensional checks
- RotoZip cutting on welded tanks
- Sets up test and performance evaluations on products and components as required.
- Compiles data into various chart forms i.e. histogram, capability charts etc.
- Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and suggests application of standard or non-standard techniques.
- Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct. Ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality.
Required Training, Knowledge and Experience:
- This position, although technical in scope, assignment and direction, is not typically occupied by an academically trained or registered engineer.
- Metrology laboratory and inspection experience preferred.
- 3 years-related work experience preferred.
- Must possess excellent computer and communication skills.
- Associates Degree or equivalent combined educational and work experience.
Physical Requirements to Perform the Duties of the Job:
- Must be able to maneuver (lift/carry/push) as required 35-160 lbs on regular basis
- Use lift assists and carts, as required, to transport tanks
- Nothing that would prohibit overnight or extended travel.
- Ability to travel (including air travel and long automobile trips).
Working Conditions:
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently push up to 160 pounds.
- Maneuvers in, around, under and about factory and / or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
- Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting and bending.
- Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment and at a PC.
- Works within an automotive components manufacturing office and laboratory setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
- May be required to travel to plant and/or customer sites worldwide.
