Description
TIVC seeks a Multimedia Specialist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division to advance Corporate Communications. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is a Department of Defense entity responsible for research and development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support organization for the Navy’s ships, submarines, military watercraft and unmanned vehicles.
The NSWCPD Office of Corporate Communications provides strategic planning and execution support of communication as a function of the NSWCPD goals and requirements. NSWCPD is also responsible for informing stakeholders of technological advances, engaging stakeholders, and promoting success stories involving NSWCPD and partners across the Naval Sea Systems Command. This communication responsibility includes collaborating with research partners across academia, industry and other government organizations. NSWCPD oversees the development, implementation and execution of the command communication strategy, which includes planning and tactics across all targeted stakeholders.
This position is onsite 50% of the time and may telework 50% of the time at a designated location in Philadelphia, PA and is contingent upon award.
- The contractor shall provide timely content generation related to still photography, videography, infographics, and multi-media content. Typical tasks may include video and still photography for internal/external communications, ceremonies, special events, ground testing and demonstrations, conferences, symposiums, community activities, crisis events, and other assignments. This includes the production and editing of video news releases, “b-roll” video clips, podcasts/vodcasts, social media content, photo captions, video descriptions, story development/production, scriptwriting, support on-camera interviews, digital video conversion from one file format to another, color correction and processing of print and informational imagery.
- Provide multi-media support for digital media using software provided by the government including but not limited to: Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Bridge, Apple Motion and/or Adobe After Effects, Apple DVD Studio Pro, Apple Color, Apple Live Type or new versions or upgrades as required.
- Properly crop, edit, and caption photographs according to Navy Style guidelines in order to support archival and search/find of specific photo events on equipment provided by the Government for use in other command public affairs products. Photography products will be provided to support development of internal and external communication products.
- Maintain and upgrade technical skills and capabilities in regard to the application of new technologies and software.
- Provide photographic support of distinct events each year, which may require local travel, portrait shots and capture of technology development, testing and demonstrations co-located with NSWCPD partners. Photography must be captured in a journalistic style in digital format using equipment and software provided by the Government.
- Utilize and operate digital video camera equipment and editing video software.
- Produce motion graphics for video using lighting design, sound design, story development and conducting video interviews.
- Work as a team member and independently and take projects from concept to completion.
- Utilize Adobe Photoshop CS 4/5/6, Adobe Premier Video Editing, PC and iOS operating systems, digital video conversion from one file format to another.
- Manage technical aspects of image distribution and shall be familiar with Navy customs and protocols with respect to the correct wearing of the Navy uniform, security considerations, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in visual communications, video production or related broadcast field from an accredited institution, or mass communications specialist with Defense Information School (DINFOS) accreditation or (4) four years of active duty experience as a photo journalist.
- Three (3) years of experience in the last seven (7) years providing scriptwriting, caption writing, video editing, videography, video producing and still photography services in a public affairs/corporate communications environment.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance which requires a minimum of US Citizenship.
- Demonstrated experience providing visual communications support for federal clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with expertise in seeing projects from inception through to completion.
- Ability to reside and work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the duration of the contract.
