What are the responsibilities and job description for the AVP, Alternative Real Estate Product position at TIAA?
The Alternative Real Estate Product Assistant Vice President position focuses on product development and management, and supports the continued growth of Nuveen’s real estate initiatives and offerings in the U.S. This position will have a leading role from initial concept through launch as well as on scaling existing mandates. The ability to create and articulate strategic plans relating to existing and future products, taking into consideration multiple client channels, industry, market, regulatory, and economic trends will be key.
Essential to the role is an ability to assess and model product profitability, creating numerous financial scenarios and communicating the outcomes and recommendations effectively across functions, businesses and management levels. Another deliverable is the oversight and execution of product development initiatives, including fund launches, repositioning of existing products, and innovating new ideas in partnership with key internal and external business partners. The candidate must have excellent Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce and communicate results succinctly.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develops new real estate investment products on the basis of market demand, competition, internal capabilities, profitability, and strategic direction of the firm.
- Assesses product profitability by running various fee scenario models and communicating results quickly and effectively to drive decision-making.
- Creates and delivers client-ready marketing materials that effectively communicate real estate market trends and concisely demonstrate product differentiators under tight deadlines.
- Conducts feasibility analysis with key stakeholders while establishing product strategy and defining appropriate benchmark(s).
- Updates product offering materials, responds to RFPs and collects competitor intelligence to support ongoing product management.
- Drives overall development, launch, and integration of new real estate products and services through coordinating cross-functional teams and project management.
- Oversees, monitors, and evaluates real estate investment products for performance, consistency, and profitability.

Base Pay Range: $112,500/yr. - $160,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
