The Vice President, Derivatives Services Manager will be a member of the Trade Operations team within Nuveen Global Investment Operation, reporting into the Managing Director, Head of Trade Operations. The Derivatives Services Manager will lead a cross functional team responsible for supporting Nuveen’s global foreign exchange (FX) and derivatives trade management and collateral management operational activities. Within this role, the candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely trade support, confirmation, and settlements for FX and derivatives trades and related collateral. In addition to supporting production trading and collateral management workflows, the candidate will work closely with Nuveen's Equity and Fixed Income investment teams, Technology teams, and critical business partners such as State Street to advance Nuveen's strategic initiatives and implement process improvements to scale and support the growth of the business. The Derivatives Services Manager will be responsible all team management responsibilities, including, managing the day-to-day workload, coaching / mentoring the team, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the Derivatives Services team, overseeing FX and derivatives trade management and collateral management support.
- Oversee FX and derivatives trade processing, analytics, and reporting within proprietary derivatives risk and analytics platform, supporting investments and risk management teams.
- Oversee collateral management margin call processing, settlement instruction, dispute monitoring, dispute resolution. Collaborate with trading, risk management, and operations teams to resolve disputes and ensure counterparty risk is well controlled.
- Closely collaborate with Trading, Technology, and Operations to support strategic initiatives through business analysis, development, testing, and implementation.
- Incorporate a risk management mindset, focused on identifying and mitigating operational risk through continued process improvement and enhanced operational controls. Develop standard operating procedures and remediation plans to address operational risk.
- Oversee and support operational onboarding activities for derivatives trading and collateral management. Partner with Legal on prerequisite trading agreements to support client onboarding and fund launch.
- Manage the performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional operational processes and to foster team member engagement, motivation, and development.

Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working in investment/trading operations
- 5 years of experience supporting derivatives and/or FX
- 5 years of experience managing people
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of experience working in asset management specifically in investment / trading operations
- Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate issues with internal/external stakeholders and present highly technical subject matter at an appropriate level for the target audience.
- Controls mindset, ability to partner with Compliance and Risk Management to advance the business and mitigate risk.
- Experience with or strong understanding of various derivatives instruments across equity, fixed income, FX, and credit asset classes.
- Broader knowledge of Investment Operations
- Strong knowledge of derivatives trade lifecycle and support across bilateral, listed, and cleared derivatives trading workflows.
- Understanding of Investment Management products (Pension funds, Mutual funds, Separate accts).
- Knowledge of order management systems and/or electronic trading systems to support derivatives and FX trading.
- Experience with Bloomberg Aim, Charles River, Murex and working with outsourced service providers
- Experience with supporting global trading and operating within a "follow-the-sun" global operating model
- Strong Project Management Skills and the ability to run meetings and drive results

Base Pay Range: $123,800/yr. - $171,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
