What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP, Originations (Chicago) position at TIAA?
Churchill is seeking to add to its Senior Lending Originations Team a Vice President in Chicago to provide additional coverage within existing Sponsor base as well as execute on targeted business development initiatives which will expand the firms footprint within its core offerings. Interested candidates will have experience in providing cash flow-based financing solutions to private equity sponsored transactions across a variety of industries. Ideal candidates will come with strong credit backgrounds but also have a proven track record of building relationships in addition to experience with interacting directly with private equity investment professionals. All candidates should have demonstrated track record of leading middle market leveraged buyouts.

- Serve as back-up coverage to Tier 1 2 Sponsors with a focus on providing assistance for all aspects of the financings for senior debt and unitranche transactions
- Back-up coverage responsibility may also include furthering relationships with junior level PE professionals subject to coordination with Senior Originator
- Proactively keep tabs on Sponsor portfolio and target any additional business development matters associated with deepening coverage efforts
- Hands on approach for mining CAM portfolio to proactively maintain incumbent positions for performing credits and defend against reverse pitch runoff from competitors
- Attend and actively participate in sponsor meeting or events in coordination with CAM Senior Originator
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective new Sponsors, business owners, targets, investment bankers, business brokers and advisors.
- Work with various CAM functions to ensure all pitch materials are customized and readily available with most current information
- Assist with generation of multiple reports on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis to build out CAM Origination KPIs across all strategies
- Support Capital Markets Investment Analytics Team to build out specific standardized reports related to transaction & Sponsor deal flow analytics within Churchill’s proprietary Investment Management System (“IMS”)
- Monitor, track data integrity and build out enhancements to Originations Contact Relationship Management (“CRM”) system within Affinity
- Coordinate with Churchill Private Equity & Junior Capital Team on select transactions for 2nd lien, mezzanine and equity or equity-like offerings
- Attend private credit or specific industry conferences opportunistically • Assist with ad hoc projects and strategy sessions, as needed

Base Pay Range: $160,000/yr. - $216,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
