A Marine Technical Advisor will work onsite to answer dealers’ and customer technical questions verbally and through written documentation. Perform research and investigations as required to address dealer and customer concerns. Prior hands on experience in troubleshooting and repair of boat electrical and mechanical systems mandatory.

Marine Technical Advisor

Job Responsibilities:
- Answer dealers’ and customers’ technical questions verbally and through writing; perform research and investigate as required to address dealer and customer concerns
- Take part orders via telephone, fax and email from dealers, service providers and retail customers. Input parts orders into computer system
- Maintain accurate records of all activity pertaining to dealer and customer contact
- Authorize prior approval for warranty repairs on customer boats, which will be performed by Tiara and/or non-Tiara dealers
- Evaluate and process warranty claims in a timely manner
- Communicate quality information to the appropriate departments and assist in the problem solving process
- Work directly with suppliers to facilitate field repairs on their products
- Involved in Tiara Tech, Dealer training
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills, a must. Positive mental attitude. Prior experience in a customer relations role a plus
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude; knowledge and understanding of electrical theory (AC and DC) and electrical and mechanical systems
- Prior experience in troubleshooting and repair of boat electrical and mechanical systems mandatory.
- Computer literate. Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of boating terms, components, and system operations
