Steel Erection Expert

We are seeking a highly experienced Steel Erection Expert to join our team at TIC - The Industrial Company. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly and steel erection components in accordance with blueprint plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

To achieve this, you will read specifications or blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of material required. You will fabricate metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors. Additionally, you will unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting; hoist steel beams, girders, or columns into place, using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members.

You will also verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels. Furthermore, you will cut, bend, or weld steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment. Bolting aligned structural-steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place is another essential task in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or its equivalent, along with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions are crucial for success in this role. Additionally, the ability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required, is necessary.
