We are seeking a driven Associate Attorney to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of transforming legal services through technology while working entirely from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in traffic related proceedings, including but not limited to, speeding violations, DUI/DWI cases, and other traffic-related offenses.
• Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and appeals.
• Manage dockets efficiently, ensuring all case deadlines and court appearances are tracked and met.
• Maintain regular communication with courts and prosecutors to stay updated on procedural changes and case statuses.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide strategic advice on traffic law cases.
• Communicate with clients to provide updates, clarify legal processes, and answer questions in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Collaborate with the internal team to refine and optimize our proprietary case management system for seamless attorney-court interactions.
• Assist in the development and improvement of workflows to enhance efficiency in client and case management.
• Maintain organized case files, ensuring timely updates and compliance with court deadlines.
• Monitor legal trends in traffic law and contribute to team discussions on improving service delivery.

In-Person Court Appearances:

This position is fully remote, with in-person court appearances being a rare requirement. Our primary objective is to manage cases entirely through remote interactions. However, if an in-person appearance is necessary, you may need to travel within a 250-mile radius of your residence. Ticket Takedown will cover all travel-related expenses, including transportation, meals, and lodging (if applicable). Should the need for in-person court appearances exceed five instances in a single month, you will receive additional compensation for each subsequent appearance, calculated on a per-mile basis, in addition to your base salary.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar license in Illinois.
• Must reside within Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, or Michigan
• Strong organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Familiarity with legal case management software (experience with legal tech is a plus).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, courts, and prosecutors.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• A keen interest in leveraging technology to improve legal services.

This is an entry-level position created to provide the right candidate with an opportunity to grow within our organization. While prior experience is a plus, it is not required, as comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced attorneys will be provided. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in the legal field, work with cutting-edge legal technology, and develop a specialization in traffic law—a high-demand practice area.

Initially, the role will focus on core responsibilities, but we see this as the foundation for long-term growth. Over time, and as trust is built, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibilities, including managing our Northern Midwest region of operations as we expand.
