Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial buildings during various stages of construction.
- Review and analyze blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Perform quality inspections to assess the workmanship and materials used in construction projects.
- Collect data on construction practices and site conditions to identify potential issues or violations.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects to address any discrepancies or concerns found during inspections.
- Document findings and prepare detailed reports outlining inspection results and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Stay updated on changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
- Proven experience in construction inspection or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection processes and techniques to include building cods, regulations, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience working on construction sites with an understanding of safety protocols.
- Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed decisions regarding compliance issues.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering is preferred.
- Must have valid state driver’s license.
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience in concrete, steel, masonry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing inspection for buildings.
Physical Requirements:
- Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and reaching is required.
- Must have the physical ability to bend, crawl and climb over construction sites and within buildings.
