Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Review and approve plans for residential, commercial, and public buildings for compliance with the Florida Building Code.
- Identify deficiencies or code violations in blueprints and recommend changes.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify technical issues.
- Work closely with local officials to ensure compliance with zoning and safety standards.
- Prioritize emergency repair plans to facilitate rapid restoration efforts.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Analyze project requirements and create detailed plans that align with contractual obligations.
- Conduct quality inspections and implement quality control measures throughout the construction process.
- Collect and analyze data related to project progress, resource allocation, and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with construction site teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Other related job duties as required.
- Familiarity with contract management processes is essential.
- Strong background in quality inspection and quality control practices.
- Experience in data collection and analysis within a construction context is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Understanding of key financial concepts related to real estate transactions and valuations.
- Awareness of tax implications that may affect property values or investment decisions.
Education and Experience:
- Have at least four years of full-time experience as a plans examiner or inspector
- Requires Certification as a Building Plans Examiner as issued by the State of Florida through the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board
- Proven experience in construction management or a related field is preferred.
