POSITION AND SCOPE
Tide Rock is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Business Development professional to join our fast-growing, dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for outbound business development activities to create and cultivate relationships with founder led businesses in alignment with Tide Rocks acquisition targets. Your ability to create deal flow and shepherd relationships through initial stages will be instrumental in driving Tide Rock’s success.
The ideal candidate should bring experience from a high volume, metrics driven environment with a track record of success generating top of funnel leads for corporate development teams. This role will be responsible for initiating new business opportunities, nurture ongoing relationships, and drive deal pipeline through predominantly outbound sales activities.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and pursue a high volume of acquisition opportunities within manufacturing, value added distribution, and business services
- Execute daily outreach to potential acquisition targets via cold-calling, cold-email marketing, LinkedIn, networking events, etc.
- Develop strategies to achieve acquisition targets and maximize deal volume
- Build and manage a robust pipeline through prospecting, lead generation, networking, and more
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and potential future acquisitions
- Conduct market research to identify and qualify inbound and self-generated leads
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals to business owners within the manufacturing sector
- Accurately track and maintain sales activities, pipeline reports, forecasts, and trends through CRM
- Success will be determined by the number of outbound activities and the number of high-quality opportunities generated for our Corporate Development team
SKILLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 5 years’ experience in sales/business development (ideally in the manufacturing sector)
- Proven track record of managing/maintaining high volume sales cycles and achieving sales targets
- In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry trends
- Proficiency in CRM software such as Salesforce
- Proficiency in advanced Sales technologies such as “SalesLoft” and other structured outreach tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build trusted relationships across a variety of age and demographic groups
- Excellent attention to detail and fact-finding ability
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
- MBA or other relevant master’s degree preferred
