- Clinical Supervisor Job Description -
The clinical supervisor is responsible for guiding practitioners in assessing clients, making referrals, developing treatment plans, training, and motivating staff. The clinical supervisor conducts regular meetings with supervisees and ensures policies and procedures are being followed as well as ethical and quality clinical care. The clinical supervisor maintains a clinical caseload as well as supports the evaluation and assessment process of clients at the agency.
- Clinical Supervisor Responsibilities -
- Reviewing and overseeing the work procedures of practitioners
- Leads clinical staff in supervision and maintains supervision contract
- Supports practitioners in complying with licensure and registration requirements
- Monitor and support practitioners
- Assisting practitioners with challenging and complex cases
- Developing programs which comply with policies and procedures
- Maintains direct care of 20-25 units of service per week
- Maintain up to two intern supervisees.
- Provide supervision to graduate and fully licensed professional counselors.
- Complete initial evaluation and re-evaluation of supervisee’s clients.
- Support consumer care through quality assurance efforts.
- Support community relations and collaborative efforts with stakeholders.
- Serve as a representative of the agency’s management team and support maintaining ethics standards as outlined by licensing boards, COMAR and accreditation.
- Ensure quality treatment of providers & patients through warm interaction and strengths based approach
- Serve as a clinical lead while working in the office to support graduate level and intern therapists with de-escalation and emergency petition as needed.

- Clinical Supervisor Education and Experience Requirements -
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field
- Prior experience in psychotherapy is preferred.
- Follow standards of Confidentiality.
- Meet all necessary state licensure requirements.
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar role
- Clinical Supervisor License Requirements -
- LCMFT, LCSW-C, or LCPC
- Board Approved Supervisor
