Job Summary
The FOH Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day front of the house operations of the restaurant and is accountable for the supervision, organization, and support of the front of house teams. The FOH Restaurant Manager works with the Executive Chef for any BOH related inquiries. Responsible for the business performance of the restaurant, as well as maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, health, and safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver phenomenal guest experience.
- Supervising FOH employees for your scheduled shifts including documenting employee issues, disciplining employees, shift highlights, cash balancing, identifying problems.
- Build sales, profitability, and guest counts with servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Meet financial objectives by forecasting sales, adjusting labor expenditures, preparing FOH budgets, and analyzing variances.
- Adhering to and successfully managing budgets for selected parts of the P&L that the FOH Manager is in control of. The items of the P&L that the FOH will be managing are: Labor, FOH Expenses, Liquor and Wine COGS, Sales, and Profit.
- Filling in wherever needed in the restaurant when there is an absence by a FOH employee.
- Wine knowledge, ordering, and inventory management.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment by establishing, following, and complying with sanitation standards and procedures.
- Engage in community and market-related opportunities.
- Maintains proper etiquette with all staff members and guests.
- Maintain and organize documentation related to the FOH operations including items such as employee forms, safety procedures, financial documents, etc.
- Make good decisions and exercise sound judgment while anticipating any changes.
- Stay updated on current menu choices and ingredients, menu specials, and knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
- Responsible for all cash management and security procedures.
- Prepares and records bank deposits for the restaurant.
- General knowledge of Toast POS, Hotschedules, and Google software and applications used in managing FOH operation.
