PARTS ADVISOR

Reports to: Director of Operations, Colonial Truck & Trailer Service in Williamsburg, VA

Job Description: The Parts Advisor will source parts that are requested by either the customer or the shop manager. This position is responsible for checking in and stocking parts, as well as handling all vendor paperwork. The Parts Advisor will also oversee, and assist as needed, the Service Writer.

Responsibilities:

• Source stock and specialty parts at the best possible price
• Follow up on delivery of parts and stock parts area with appropriate products
• Facilitate and participate in yearly inventory
• Ensure all and correct parts are added to the customer’s ticket
• Work with other company Parts Advisors on best practices and pricing in term of acquiring parts
• Maintain correct parts cost and pricing in company accounting system.
• Advise shop manager on parts ETA when ordered and what parts to expect each day in the morning
• Maintain accurate inventory control and maintain daily parts traffic from shop and road service technicians
• Keep parts area and shelves neat and tidy
• Clearly label all parts shelves as appropriate.
• Help answer office phones and schedule customer appointments
• Management of the Service Writer and any other office positions
• Any other duties as assigned by the Parts Advisor or Director of Operations

Requirements:

• Parts knowledge of heavy duty diesel vehicles, recreational vehicles, and trailers is a must
• Excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills
• Strong organizational skills are a must
• Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize workload with accuracy
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and work ethic
• Should have a “team first” attitude and maintain our team atmosphere even in stressful situations.
• Have an extremely strong attention to detail
• Must pass a drug screening

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
