Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with specialized knowledge in infusion therapy. This role requires the ability to provide high-quality patient care, administer medications, and monitor patients undergoing infusion treatments. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Administer intravenous (IV) medications and fluids as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after infusion therapy.
- Perform venipuncture and manage central lines, including PICC lines and other access devices.
- Conduct assessments of patients' physiological status, documenting findings accurately in electronic health records (Cerner).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion therapies, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain a sterile environment during procedures such as gastric lavage and catheterization.
- Provide support to patients requiring dialysis or ventilatory assistance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures within the clinical setting.
Skills
- Proficient in performing venipuncture and managing IV access devices.
- Knowledge of physiology relevant to patient care in an inpatient setting.
- Experience with Cerner or similar electronic health record systems for documentation purposes.
- Experience with inventory and supplies
- Proficient in documenting patient charts
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
