Description
Position Summary
The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for cleaning, assembly and disinfection of all company scopes and supplies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans and decontaminates endoscopes per protocol.
- Keeps required records such as biological checks and unit checks.
- Performs required environmental and/or equipment maintenance procedures.
- Assists with room turnovers.
- Receives faulty equipment and processes them for repair service.
- Distributes supplies and stocks storage areas.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of endoscopy procedures.
- Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology.
- Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate quality control concepts.
- Knowledge of basic word processing and worksheets.
- Knowledge of electronic health record.
- Skill in communicating clearly with diverse publics.
- Skill in excellent customer service.
- Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.

Education / Training / Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Endoscopy experience preferred.
- One year of healthcare-related experience preferred.
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to sit for periods of time.
- Ability to climb or balance for limited periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs. *
- Ability to grasp and hold up to 25 lbs.*
