We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical terminology and experience in a medical office setting will be invaluable as you assist patients with their inquiries, appointments, and insurance verification processes.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Verify patient insurance information and handle any necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld.
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Process billing information and assist with any inquiries related to medical billing.
- Respond to patient questions regarding services, procedures, and office policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure a smooth patient experience.
- Perform general front desk duties, including answering phones, scans/faxes, check patients in and out, and managing correspondence.
Skills
- Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Experience working at a front desk in a medical office setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with Nextgen software or similar practice management systems is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to better serve our diverse patient population.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and appointments.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
