We have been retained to help an industry leading company near Dayton, Ohio find a Business Development Specialist. My client is dedicated to delivering exceptional products and outstanding customer service, all guided by a strong, people-centric culture.

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new customers, expanding market presence, and driving revenue growth. You will work closely with the Sales Manager and Customer Service teams to deliver a seamless customer experience that reflects our "culture-first" approach.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify and Pursue Opportunities : Research markets and build a robust pipeline of potential customers whose needs align with our current capabilities.
  • Lead Generation : Generate qualified leads through market research, networking, cold calling, and leveraging existing contacts.
  • Sales Strategy : Develop and implement effective strategies to meet or exceed sales targets, including territory planning and account prioritization.
  • Relationship Building : Cultivate strong relationships with new and prospective customers by understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Presentation & Proposal : Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and quotes that clearly communicate our product offerings and value proposition.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with the Sales Manager and Customer Service teams to ensure a positive, efficient, and integrated customer experience.
  • Reporting : Maintain accurate records in CRM systems (or similar tools) to track lead generation, sales activities, and outcomes.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Technical Aptitude : Knowledge of manufacturing processes and technical products; experience with machining and fabrication a plus.
  • Travel : Willing and able to travel up to 50% to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Proven Track Record : Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Organizational Skills : Strong attention to detail, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Collaboration : Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Motivation : Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and eager to contribute to the company's growth.
