ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Ensure compliance with Tidewater Transit operating procedures.
2. Analyzing and implementing effective solutions to business challenges.
3. Monitor and review Terminal financial documents including monthly Profit and Loss statements, tractor and Trailer monthly revenue reports and terminal operating costs
4. Monitor and review dispatch procedures for planning and efficiency.
5. Monitor and review log hours for drivers.
6. Implement strategies to maximize efficiency of equipment and drivers.
7. Determine Terminal staffing needs interview and recommend candidates to fill driver and non-driver positions.
8. Provides supervision, including evaluation of the performance of terminal drivers and staff.
9. Ensure completion of training of all terminal personnel on Tidewater Transit operating procedures.
10. Participate in customer meetings.
11. Oversee management of shop operations including review equipment files including inspections and maintenance schedules.
12. Oversight of terminal purchases and inventory.
13. Plan, implement, and evaluate operating procedures for new customer requirements.
14. Responsible for security of terminal.
15. Other duties as needed
Job Requirements:
PURPOSE
The Terminal Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of terminal operations including coordinating dispatch, verifying and reviewing paperwork, staffing, insuring compliance with operating policies and procedures, and communicating with customers. This position must be available after hours and on weekends to respond to calls and incidents.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Five years’ experience in transportation and logistics. Terminal management or Dispatch experience preferred. Prior experience with hazmat, chemical, and tank operations needed.
2. Excellent verbal and written English communications skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of all Tidewater and customer documentation, processes, and proprietary information.
4. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities.
5. Able to analyze, interpret and use data to adapt to schedule changes and unexpected events
6. Above average computer skills proficient in Microsoft Office
7. Demonstrated ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Wage Range: 65000.00 - 75000.00 per year
