Tiegerman Community Services (TCS) provides services to adults with developmental disabilities in Queens, Suffolk, and Nassau Counties and is approved by the New York State Office for People with Disabilities (OPWDD). TCS is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to join our Adult Services Program located in Kings Park!
Schedule:
- Days: Sunday – Thursday
- Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Rate: $21.00 per hour
Responsibilities: ·
- Assist/monitor/teach individuals with preparation of daytime activities; encourage good personal hygiene
- Meet with individuals (as needed) on an individual basis to discuss concerns, problems
- Supervise individuals in on and off site activities
- Handle emergency situations appropriately
- Utilize crisis interventions when necessary
- Complete required documentation
- Provide first-aid assistance to all individuals and assist in the follow through on medical needs for individuals
- Assure individuals follow routines
- Report suspected abuse & neglect to supervisor immediately (within one hour)
- Transport individuals to and from community outings
- Complete required documentation.
- Complete all required training.
- Attend required staff meetings and trainings
- Ensure the health and safety of all participants
- Conveys relevant information to supervisors relating to participants and the program.
- Provide transportation to participants.
- Assist with Monthly Billing
- Responsible for ensuring the keys, bags and PEX cards are secure daily
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Asst. Manager, and Administration.
Requirements:
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required
- Minimum Education of High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience with Special Needs Population preferred
