Tiegerman Community Services (TCS) provides services to adults with developmental disabilities in Queens, Suffolk, and Nassau Counties and is approved by the New York State Office for People with Disabilities (OPWDD). TCS is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our Adult Services Program(s) located in:
- Farmingdale IRA (Nassau County)
Positions Available Include:
- Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem, Overnight, Day Shift, Evening Shift
Responsibilities: ·
- Assist/monitor/teach individuals with preparation of daytime activities; encourage good personal hygiene
- Meet with individuals (as needed) on an individual basis to discuss concerns, problems
- Supervise individuals in on and off-site activities
- Handle emergent situations appropriately
- Utilize crisis interventions when necessary
- Complete required documentation
- Provide first-aid assistance to all individuals and following through on medical needs for the individuals
- Assure individuals follow routines
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Asst. Manager, and Administration
- ·Report suspected abuse & neglect to supervisor immediately (within one hour)
- Transport individuals to and from community outings
Requirements:
- Valid NYS Driver’s License (for FT positions)
- Minimum Education of High School Diploma/GED
- Experience with Special Needs Population Preferred
