Job Title: Structural Steel/Misc Metals Estimator
Location: North Phoenix, AZ (REMOTE option available)
The Estimator is responsible for developing precise cost estimates for steel fabrication projects, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing. The Estimator will review project specifications, assess material and labor costs, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to successful bid submissions. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Estimate Development: Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication and installation projects, incorporating materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related costs.
- Blueprint & Specification Analysis: Interpret project plans, drawings, and technical documents to determine scope, requirements, and cost implications.
- Material & Vendor Sourcing: Research and evaluate material suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement while maintaining quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and clients to align estimates with project goals and specifications.
- Bid Preparation & Submission: Compile and present competitive bid proposals, ensuring accuracy, compliance with client requirements, and adherence to project timelines.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Engage with clients and stakeholders to clarify estimates, discuss cost adjustments, and provide value-based pricing insights.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of Estimating in Structural Steel and Misc Metals
- TEKLA Software
- Understanding of Blueprints/Drawings
