This role is critical to ensuring the safety and success of excavation and construction projects by accurately identifying and marking underground utilities.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough site inspections to locate and mark underground utilities using electromagnetic equipment, GPR (ground-penetrating radar), and other advanced technologies.
- Interpret blueprints, utility maps, and as-built plans to ensure accuracy in locating underground assets.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and site supervisors to determine scope and critical project requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of utility locations and project findings.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring no disruption or damage to existing utility systems.
- Troubleshoot locating equipment and communicate maintenance needs when required.
- Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in utility locating techniques.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in utility locating or related fields.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electromagnetic locating equipment, GPR, and utility locating software.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with utility systems (electric, gas, water, sewer, fiber optic) and local/state regulations.
- Physical Capability: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Certifications: Locator certifications or training is highly preferred but not required.
