An innovative, mission-driven technology company is seeking a Manager of Engineering to lead a high-performing, remote-first team of engineers while working hybrid (2 days/week in-office) near Tucker, GA.
This role requires a strong technical leader with hands-on experience in Linux environments, as the companyβs infrastructure and development processes are deeply rooted in Linux-based systems. Youβll be instrumental in shaping technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and driving the execution of high-impact software solutions.
π° Base Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 up to 10% annual bonus

What Youβll Do
πΉ Lead & Mentor β Manage and develop a distributed team of 7 software and test engineers in an Agile environment.
πΉ Drive Engineering Excellence β Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring scalable, high-performance solutions.
πΉ Champion Linux Development β Ensure best practices and optimizations within a Linux-based infrastructure.
πΉ Collaborate Cross-Functionally β Work closely with product management & architecture teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.
πΉ Establish Technical Standards β Maintain best practices, coding standards, and architectural integrity.
πΉ Hands-On Technical Leadership β While primarily a leadership role, youβll contribute to the codebase when needed to support your team.
πΉ Optimize Agile Processes β Oversee Agile ceremonies and promote efficient cross-team collaboration.
What You Bring
β 7 years of experience as a software engineer with a strong technical background.
β 2 years of direct management experience leading software engineers in an Agile environment.
β Strong hands-on experience in a Linux environment (critical requirement).
β Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies with a proven ability to deliver high-quality software.
β Excellent communication & leadership skills β Ability to mentor teams and convey technical concepts effectively.
β Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
β Experience leading distributed or nearshore teams.
β Hands-on expertise with TypeScript, PHP, and cloud-based architectures.
β Familiarity with Node.js, React, MySQL/Postgres, Kafka, GraphQL, Vue.js.
β Masterβs degree in Computer Science (preferred but not required).
β Agile or Scrum certification (a plus).
