As the first architect in this space, you’ll own the architectural strategy and execution across a powerful POS ecosystem used by hospitality operators nationwide. What You’ll Own

• Define and drive architecture for a modern hospitality POS platform — from strategy through execution.
• Design scalable, cloud-native solutions that handle real-time transactions, offline resilience, and business-critical uptime.
• Lead modernization of legacy systems while preserving stability and optimizing for user impact.
• Serve as a technical force multiplier, influencing product, engineering, and offshore delivery teams.
• Implement frameworks for observability, auto-scaling, containerization, and fault tolerance.
• Translate complex technical requirements into clean, actionable system designs.
• Act as a player-coach, mentoring team members, steering product architecture, and influencing broader platform strategy.

Who You Are

• You’ve architected high-volume, distributed systems in production environments — and you can explain the trade-offs you made and why.
• You understand how products behave in the real world, especially in hospitality, retail, or guest experience spaces.
• You’ve led architecture initiatives across microservices, cloud infrastructure, and modern app delivery.
• You speak fluently across offshore teams, executive stakeholders, and engineering leads — adjusting your lens as needed.
• You bring confidence, assertiveness, and structured calm in chaos.
• You’ve walked the walk — you know how to scale systems, mitigate outages, sunset legacy tech, and keep the user at the center.

Your Technical Sweet Spot

• Distributed Systems / Cloud-Native Architecture (AWS, EKS, Serverless)
• Microservices, Containers (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Open Frameworks: Spring, JAX-RS, RESTful APIs
• Observability & Profiling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Redis / Caching & High-Availability Design
• CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, Automation
• Resilient Architecture for POS or Real-Time Transaction Systems

Bonus Points For

• Experience with POS or restaurant tech systems
• Familiarity with retail/hospitality networks, synchronization challenges, and offline-resilience
• Leading architecture in scrappy, fast-growth product environments
• Navigating offshore delivery models without compromise on quality

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $175,000–$185,000 DOE
• Performance-based bonus structure
