This key role will report to the CEO and partner closely with senior leadership to build a strong, inclusive, and high-performing culture while balancing strategic and hands-on HR leadership.
About the Role
As the Vice President of HR & Culture, you will act as both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator. You will establish scalable HR processes, foster an inclusive and engaging workplace culture, and design programs that enable the team to thrive in a remote-first, fast-growth environment. You’ll drive initiatives across talent acquisition, employee engagement, corporate communications, and organizational development.
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience working in a high-growth tech or startup environment and demonstrate expertise in aligning people operations with business objectives.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategy
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, setting HR strategy to align with organizational goals.
- Act as a player-coach, balancing high-level strategic initiatives with hands-on execution.
- Drive change management efforts and implement scalable processes to support growth.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that reflect company values.
- Build and execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy, ensuring speed, quality, and consistency in hiring processes.
- Develop interview best practices and train hiring managers to improve candidate evaluation and selection.
- Design and manage robust onboarding and training programs to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Create career pathing frameworks and mentoring programs to support professional development.
- Foster a strong company culture that bridges U.S. and Latin American teams, emphasizing collaboration, communication, and inclusivity.
- Lead internal corporate communications, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.
- Organize initiatives and events to build morale in a remote-first environment.
- Establish and manage HR policies and practices, including employee handbooks, benefits programs, and compliance with U.S. and international labor laws.
- Implement systems and tools to streamline HR operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance on managing employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Support board and investor reporting on HR metrics, such as retention and hiring trends.
QualificationsRequired:
- 10 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on fast-growth, startup, or tech environments.
- Proven track record of building and scaling HR functions within lean, high-performing organizations.
- Strong experience in remote-first and international workforce management, particularly across U.S. and Mexico.
- Strong understanding of Latin American cultural nuances.
- Expertise in talent acquisition, onboarding, and building people-first strategies.
- Confident and opinionated leader who can push back constructively and partner effectively with the executive team.
- Experience in creating HR programs that merge U.S. and Latin American workplace cultures.
- Familiarity with HR reporting for investors and boards.
- Battle-tested in high-pressure, high-growth environments with a GSD (Get Stuff Done) mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
