POSITION SUMMARY:
Floor Technicians are typically responsible for the overall floor maintenance of both hard surface and carpeted areas. Duties may include stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction and bonneting of offices, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, cafeterias, and other public areas. Other required duties will be assigned by supervision and may include removal of heavy trash debris both inside and outside of the facility. Removal of recycling, wall washing, and other non-routine cleaning may also be part of this job.
REQUIRED FUNCTIONS: List the core routine responsibilities that are necessary to accomplish the purpose of the job.
This job requires the use of specialized, motorized equipmentMandatory compliance with all safety requirements and procedures
Preventive maintenance check on all equipment prior to use
Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work
Floor care which includes routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface flooring and stairwells
Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extraction of carpeting, stairwells, and upholstery
Wall cleaning
General cleaning including dusting (high and low), restroom care, office and/or classroom cleaning
Trash removal either interior office, from dock area, freight area, or from the exterior trash receptacles
Care and cleaning of floor care equipment
Other duties as assigned by supervision
QUALIFICATIONS: Describe experience, education, and related course work typically required or expected to perform essential job functions.
Aptitude and experience using heavy equipmentAbility to work independently with minimum assistance or supervision
Willingness to follow established safety procedures
Attention to detail and passion for quality workmanship
Ability to understand and follow directions from supervision

Salary : $29,200 - $36,900
