Job Title: Sr. IT Project Manager

Location: Midtown Atlanta, GA

6 month contract with potential to extend

Will work 4 days onsite and 1 day remotely


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager / Scrum Master to lead a large, complex software development transformation project. This is a high-visibility role with direct involvement in shaping the success of a critical program. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the delivery of the project within scope, timeline, and budget. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a transformative project ensuring the successful development, testing, and implementation of a new solution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Proactively lead the team to develop, test, and implement the solution, fostering a best practice approach and providing coaching as required to ensure the team's success.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholder expectations across both Business and IT, ensuring that key information is communicated clearly to keep all parties aligned and informed.
  • Facilitation of Key Meetings & Workshops: Lead and facilitate meetings and workshops with business units and IT teams, including requirements workshops, design meetings, and various Scrum ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives).
  • Backlog Management & Prioritization: Collaborate with the Product Manager and other team leads to ensure that project requirements are clearly defined and prioritized in the product backlog, including estimating effort and identifying dependencies.
  • Support to Product and Project Managers: Provide ongoing support to Product and Project Managers, ensuring that project deliverables are clearly defined, understood, and successfully executed by the project team.
  • Change Management: Lead change management activities to ensure a smooth transition to the new system and facilitate ongoing adaptation to evolving needs.
  • Issue Resolution: Facilitate discussions to resolve roadblocks and impediments, ensuring that they are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Scrum Facilitation: Coordinate the Scrum team and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon standards and procedures.
  • Tools & Reporting: Recommend and implement tools, standards, and metrics for reporting project progress, and provide updates for status reports to keep all stakeholders informed.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including the project plan, communications plan, RAID log, and other key project artifacts.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Manage team-level risks and issues effectively and escalate them promptly when necessary.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in successfully delivering software development projects. Experience replacing existing applications, data migrations, and transformation projects would be a huge plus.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex projects or programs (experience working in a highly regulated industry would be a plus).
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience managing changes in a production environment, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Strong experience leading and managing cross-functional teams with a proactive approach.
  • Solid knowledge of IT tools - specifically MS Project, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • PMP Certification is highly desired.
